Spellcheck

Post by kmandiver »

I know this subject has been beat to death, but I have tried every fix I can find on the forum.
I am using the most up to date version
Vista and Win 8
I have ten ebooks started in Atlantis. In nine of the books spellcheck works perfect. If I start a new project spell check works perfect.
Spellcheck in the tenth ebook does nothing.
The settings from projects that do work seem to be the same as the one that doesn't.
Any ideas?

Please, press “Ctrl+A” in the “faulty” document. Is “US English” or “UK English” shown on the status bar? If not, assign the appropriate language coding to the document (“Format | Language…”)

HTH.

Spellcheck

Did not work. I have actually been trying to correct this for a very long time across two different computers.
If I remember correctly I even tried opening a new blank project and importing the entire ebook into the new project. The problem followed to the new document.
Any more suggestions?

Could you please send an extract (a sample) from such a faulty “project” to Support@AtlantisWordProcessor.com? Thanks.

Spellcheck

OK, this has really gotten bizarre.
I decided to again open a new, unnamed project. For some reason I decided to start at the end of my book and cut and paste to the new doc by chapters.
Once I did this everything up to chapter 18 everything worked perfectly!
When I started typing, the red x on the little open book at the bottom disappeared and incorrect spelling was underlined in red.
Then I cut and pasted from the beginning of the book through Ch. 17.
Guess what? No spellchecker in those chapters. The red x does not disappear during typing and no underlines.
Obviously spellchecker is turned off for one half of my book, even though it is the same doc. How is this possible?

If there aren’t any problem of confidentiality, could you please send a copy of this document to Support@AtlantisWordProcessor.com? This copy will only be used for testing purposes by the Atlantis developers and will be deleted after the tests have been completed.

If I do that, how exactly do I do it? Zip, plain old email attachment? I am not real sharp on this stuff.

I did some more troubleshooting and this is what I found.
The beginning of the book has 2 graphics. Second graphics has text outside the frame and spellcheck works. Then have TOC. Then Authors notes.
If I place the cursor to the left of the A in Author spellck works. If I place the cursor at the end of notes it works.
If I place it to the left of the very first word in the next line of text spellcheck is deactivated all the way thru to Chapter 18.
Deleted TOC no help
Cut and pasted, copied and pasted back to the last word in the graphics where spellck worked, no help.

This is a Win 8 machine, I downloaded the current version just a month or so ago. This problem is also on my older Vista machine.

Yes, of course, plain old zipped email attachment.

Thanks for the "extract" document. But I cannot notice anything wrong with it. Just two pages of identically formatted text associated with the "US English". Only the following 4 words get red-underlined in your document by the spellchecker in "my" Atlantis:

WalMart
frigging
COE
D5

Could you please email your entire document?
