Hello,
I just recently moved and brought Atlantis with me on a CD and installed it to my new computer - both old and new computers run Win 98. I copied all the files I use constantly onto the CD as well.
But since I re-copied it, many of these files are opening up in "read only" mode, and the only way I can change them is to save them into "MY Documents". I can NOT find any way to organize files in "My Documents", and would much prefer the old way of making Atlantis files, filing them into Atlantis and working within the program.
What can I do to make the program save into Atlantis automatically, instead of my having to cycle endlessly back through all the options just to get back to where I'm starting from, the Atlantis folder:?: And why are so many of my documents opening in read only mode:?:
Any help sincerely appreciated,
Jane
Saving and Retrieving documents
I could not tell you who or what changed file attributes of your documents. But you could use your Windows Explorer to change file attributes. Simply use Windows Explorer to select the desired files, then press Alt+Enter for the file properties. Uncheck the "Read-only" box.
If you are opening documents directly from CD, they will be always read-only.

Saving Files to Atlantis?
Yes thank you, I will do that for the read-only files. But what about my other question, which was:
Is there a way to save files directly into Atlantis without the endless cycling through from "My Documents" back around to Atlantis? Possibly this is a Windows function?
Thank you.

I am not sure that understood your question. You could not "save anything into Atlantis".
You could use Atlantis to create new documents, open existing documents, save modified documents to your hard drive.
By default the "Open document" and "Save document as" dialogs of Atlantis suggest to open documents from (or save documents to) the "My Documents" folder. If you do not like this, you could adjust the "Document Folder" options of Atlantis ("Tools | Options", "Load / Save").
