On-screen color settings

Post by Rex »

Hi

I am a new user, just testing Atlantis. Until now, everything is fine, but there is something that I really miss.

I would like to know: is it possible to set on-screen colors (displayed only on the screen) which do not affect the printed document? That is, such settings do not affect the document itself, only its rendering on the screen.
Some word processors implement such settings via color themes. For instance, the user may choose to display all the opened documents with a white-on-black theme (white text on black background), regardless of the text/background colors set in the document itself. Some programs even allow custumized combinations of colors (Kingsoft Writer is very nice in this regard).
It would be nice to be able to set more than one color theme, so as to toggle between one theme and the other.

This feature is very usedful for users who have visual problems (especially, those who suffer from eye strain), as a light text color on a dark background is much more relaxing than the customary back-on-white.
This is a very useful, functional feature, essential for some users, NOT a whimsical request.

Since I was not able to find this feature in Atlantis, could you please tell me if it is already possible to achieve the customization described above.
If not, what are the chances of seeing it implemented in the near future?

Thanks

Rex

You can change onscreen colors on the "Colors" tab of the "Tools | Options..." dialog of Atlantis:
