headers and deleting section breaks

My document comprises several sections each of which was inserted as a "next page". Each of my sections has its own header. I have noticed that if I manually delete the section break of say section 13 by placing the cursor at the section break and pressing the delete key, then the headers for section 12 get replaced with the header for what was section 13.

The Sections panel of the Atlantis Control Board has the "Merge highlighted and previous section" and "Merge highlighted and next section" commands (you can find info on these commands at the bottom of this Help topic). It is recommended that you use these two commands of the "Sections" panel for merging neighboring sections.
