cover underneath footer and not centered

Post by debsky »

Hi, I'm having a problem with the cover on the .doc version (before to tranform it in .epub), the cover is in jpeg and Rgb.

I don't find the way to put it OVER the header and footer and slide it in the position I want (centered).

Can sb give me a hand?
Thanks

What exactly do you mean by “OVER the header and footer”?
Here is what I can suggest.
First, double-click within the page main area to push the header and footer into the non-editable page background.
Insert the picture.
The picture will be centered horizontally if you apply a centered alignment to its associated paragraph (“Format | Paragraph > Alignment > Centered”).
The picture will be centered vertically if you apply any appropriate “Spacing before” value to its associated paragraph (“Format | Paragraph > Spacing > Before > appropriate value”).
HTH.
Cheers,

Thanks Robert, I managed to center the image with format/paragraph and center.

I still have problem with the footer, I send the .doc to assistance because it's too big for here.

@Robert: it appears underneath the footer, i.e. with a part white over the picture at the bottom.

Thanks to all,
Deb

It sounds as if your picture is too big. Maybe you could try downsizing it (right-click the picture, choose “Format…”, then scale the picture down).

debsky, thanks for the document file.

I have adjusted the header and footer of section #1, and emailed you the adjusted version of your document.

Note that headers/footers are not saved to EPUBs.

Admin, thanks, I received the document and the cover is well placed.

But you didn't teach me to fish?

I managed to reduce the dimention of header and footer and to place them at the margins of the page section 1, but still the cover appears underneath them (or one of them)...

Thanks,
Deb

Blank headers/footers displaying over the cover picture in Atlantis is the onscreen display only. If you print your document, the cover picture would display correctly.

In addition, headers and footers in your documents are not saved to EPUB. Headers/footers in your source documents in no way affect the display of your eBooks.

I simply reduced the header/footer margins for section #1 of your document. Then removed a spare paragraph from the footer, and applied font size of 1pt to both the header and footer.
