Crash

Post by Eduardo »

Hi,

Trying to load a RTF file processed with another program, Atlantis gave me the following message:

Exception with message.
"Access violation at 00540A93 in Atlantis.exe."raised while executing sensitive operation.

Atlantis didn't crash but didn't load the file. Later I was able to load the conflicting file in Word. Apparently, what was causing the problem was the file having all the Latin accents in a different font (Verdana) from the default font (Palatino).

For example:

Manhã. All the letters of this word were in Palatino, while the accented letter ã was converted to Verdana. This happened with all the accented words throughout the text. For this reason Atlantis didn't load the file.

Could you please look into this?

Thanks.
Eduardo

Thanks for the document file. The problem has nothing to do with font formatting. The RTF code of the document includes invalid instructions. I mean the "\u0" RTF tag instructing a word processor to insert a Unicode character with code 0.

When I open your document in MS Word, the invalid character displays in this way:

Image

Any next release of Atlantis Word Processor will ignore such invalid characters within RTF documents. But this does not change the fact that the RTF code of this document is invalid.

I take the opportunity to wish you all, and your families, the best in 2011.

Cheers.

Exception error/can't open file

Post by eboepple »

I was working on a file (.doc) that opened just fine one minute and the next time I went to open the file, it spawned "exception" errors (each time a different number "location." I can still open same file fine in MS Word. I saved it as a copy and deleted the last chapter I'd added, back to a form that had worked great, but it still crashes. I uninstalled and reinstalled (I had been using the beta version); no help. Uninstalled and reverted to the older version (not beta)...still stuck. I'm desperate! PlEASE can anyone tell me what's wrong? ***I tried to attach the file but perhaps it's too big since nothing happens.

Thanks for the document file.

Atlantis has difficulties with the first endnote which has a reference mark within its 4th paragraph. This bug has been fixed in the latest beta version of Atlantis Word Processor.

Please choose the "Help | Check for Updates..." menu command of your Atlantis, and upgrade to the latest beta version.
