Apply document template

Post by janniklindquist »

Hi,

Well, what's better entertainment a rainy night than to read through all the Atlantis-commands? :-) So I found the "Apply document template"-command - something I hardly dared to dream about nicely tucked away in the list of commands! With the "Enable preview"-button enabled it is Atlantis at its very best - incredibly powerful and marveously elegant.

This inspired me to create two templates for my wife who is a priest (and for whom I have just bought an Atlantis-license): one for writing her sermons and one for printing them out fit for reading aloud from. The idea was that she could then just switch document template when she is ready to print.

However, she prefers to print the sermons in columns but to write them "plain" (without columns) - and it does not seems to be possible to apply the column-settings when switching from a "plain" (no-column) template to a column-template. Or did I miss something?

The “Apply document template” feature (at least its present implementation) does not import the column settings from a template.

In most cases (when a document includes a single section formatted with one of the “standard” sets of column settings), it is extremely easy to switch between the “plain mode” and “column mode”. You only need to choose the corresponding item from the drop-down menu of the “Columns” Image toolbar button. Currently it is the only solution.

It will do. Thanks.

Where do I access this command?
Life's too short to take it seriously

By default, Atlantis does not install the "Apply document template" command to its menus or toolbars. You can add this command to your menus or toolbars, or assign a hot key to it through the "Tools | Menus...", "Tools | Toolbars...", or "Tools | Hot Keys..." menu commands of Atlantis.
