ClippyBank Question
ClippyBank Question
I began to have trouble using Atlantis alongside my favorite writer's application - something that worked quite well for a long time - so now I seldom use Atlantis. But, I miss it - a lot - and want it back as my default word processor.
Since my troubles happen while copying and pasting between the two programs, it finally occurs to me that the problem just might be ClipCache and Atlantis' Clippy Bank stumbling over each other. SO- my question is, does the Clippy Bank run all the time, I mean, when it isn't visible? Is there a way to disable it?
Thanks.

The Clippy Bank automatically collects data placed onto the clipboard when the "Clippy Bank collects clipboard data"
toolbar button is checked. Is this button checked in your Atlantis?
But there might be a different cause of the conflict between Atlantis and your clipboard software. Atlantis is also a "clipboard viewer" (a software monitoring the clipboard). Atlantis monitors the clipboard even when the "Clippy Bank collects clipboard data"
toolbar button is unchecked.

I don't have either of these buttons on my toolbar I removed them long ago. Are you saying the ClippyBank runs constantly and there is no way to turn it off? Funnny. Since I never use it, I never even knew it was there.
The real conflict is between my writer's app and Atlantis. Whenever I use
Atlantis and PowerWriter. Pasting to PowerWriter from Atlantis makes PowerWriter do odd things and then finally crash. They (the folks at Write-brain) say I'm the only one who has this problem.
If any ideas occur, please let me know.
Thanks again.
I did not say that the Clippy Bank is running constantly. But if PowerWriter crashes when you paste text put onto the clipboard by Atlantis, this problem has nothing to do with the "clipboard-viewing" features of Atlantis (including the Clippy Bank). Possibly PowerWriter is unable to process the clipboard data generated by Atlantis. Applications should not crash when performing the Paste command, no matter the current clipboard content. I think there might be a glitch in PowerWriter.
You're probably right about PowerWriter, but before I updated Atlantis to a newer version, the played nicely together.admin wrote:I did not say that the Clippy Bank is running constantly. I have another related question: I see that Clippy Bank is collecting text and putting it in a file in on my Xp System. However, I just installed Atlantis on a Win7 laptop and it isn't collecting clips there. Is that because of the differences in the Oses? Or is there some other reason?
The Clippy Bank starts collecting clipboard data only when you explicitly instruct it to do so by checking the "Clippy Bank collects clipboard data" toolbar button. To view the current content of the Clippy Bank, press F8 in Atlantis. Press F8 again to hide the Clippy Bank.
By the way, is the "Clipboard History" box checked on the "General" tab of the "Tools | Options..." box of your Atlantis?

Not sure I understand the problem fully but it's possible this may help (or help narrow down the problem).
PhraseExpress incorporates a clipboard manager. Perhaps using it as an intermediary might cut out the problem?

I'm already using ClipCache. Thanks.
OK. I couldn't figure it out. It was running but now I've got it stopped. I doubt that was the cause of my problem because it's only been running for a couple of months. I must have hit F8 sometime or another. I'm not blaming Atlantis for my problem. I was just looking (for the 1,000th time) for a solution.admin wrote:The Clippy Bank starts collecting clipboard data only when you explicitly instruct it to do so by checking the "Clippy Bank collects clipboard data" toolbar button. As for the "Clipboard History" box question, I don't have a "Clipboard History" box on the "General" Tab of the "Tools | Options..." box. In fact, I don't have it anywhere in the Options box tabs.
Thank you for your time.
OK. I found it on the Edit tabadmin wrote:Sorry, my fault. The "Clipboard History" box should be available on the "Edit" tab of the "Tools | Options..." window of Atlantis.
If you do not have the "Clipboard History" box on the "Edit" tab, please choose the "Help | About..." menu command of your Atlantis. What version does it report?
I am still using version 1.6.2.0. I know there are newer versions.
Thanks for your help.
