Page number behavior

Post by khobar »

I'm trying to change the page numbers on my existing document. Due to editing, Page 3 has become Page 5, but Page 25 is still page 25. What I need to do is edit page number on page 5 to make it page 3. When I print out the new pages 3-24 I'll be able to replace the affected section in my current printout and all will be well. However, it's not working out for me for some reason.

I *think* at least part of the problem is the "Same as Previous" that seems to be attached to my headers/footers. Yet I can't seem to find how to disable/delete the "Same as Previous".

My document has 35 sections. I think if I could make headers/footers/page numbers different in section 1 that would work. Page numbers could start with Page 3 in Section 2, and my headers and footers in sections 2-35 would all be consistent. I just need to make section 1 different.

Thanks.

Hi,
Use the Control Board “Sections” panel. The Headers/Footers section will allow you to create an own header and/or footer for the first and second sections. Creating an own header and/or footer for the second section will cancel its “Same as previous” property.
HTH.

If I understand you correctly, you only need to double-click the header on the first page of section 2, then uncheck the "Same as previous" button on the bottommost context toolbar "Header and footer".

If you still have difficulties with your document, you can send it to support@AtlantisWordProcessor.com. We would make adjustments to your document, and email the corrected version to you.

Thanks Robert,

The button suggestion did the job. However, I am where you suggested and see the options - very interesting and good to know.

We will release a tutorial on headers/footers in the nearest future. To quite many users, managing headers in multisection documents can be a tricky task to accomplish.
