Cannot disable Atlantis popups...

Hello!

I am running Atlantis Word Processor v1.6.5.1 on my Vista Home Premium laptop. Each time I open Atlantis Word Processor, I receive the following messages:

“The home folder of Atlantis contains unregistered spellcheckers for the following language(s):
English (United States)
English (United Kingdon)
Would you like to register them now, so that Atlantis can spellcheck matching text?
X Do not ask again”

As you can see, there is a “do not ask again” option in the lower left hand corner of the message. However, after indicating that I would like to register the spellcheckers followed by a checkmark in the “do not ask again” box, Atlantis continues to display this popup.

This first popup is followed by a second popup titled “Atlantis Tips,”

“Atlantis Tips
Did you know that … [Tip follows]
X Show tips at startup.”

As with the first popup, this one also has a “show or do not tips at startup.” However, after placing a checkmark in the box to signal “do not show tips at startup," Atlantis continues to display tips at startup. Like the first popup, I am unable to turn this one off.

Has anyone experienced this oddity? If so, please tell me how to turn off these popups. Thank you in advance.

This normally means that Atlantis is unable to save its settings to the Registry or an INI file on close.
Are you using a portable copy of Atlantis on a USB memory drive?

If you are using a copy of Atlantis installed to a hard disk, possibly something is wrong with your Windows account privileges. Please open the "C:\Program Files\Atlantis\" folder in Windows Explorer, right-click the Atlantis.exe file, and run it "as administrator".

Another possible explanation: multiple instances of Atlantis running concurrently. Please click the following link for details:

Hello and thanks for getting back to me. Tried your suggestions already with no success. I initially assumed that perhaps some string(s) in my registry is corrupt. However, after hours poking through relevant parts of my registry, I could not find anything wrong. Of course, I could have missed something. However, of the dozens of software I have installed on my computer, only Atlantis WP is exhibiting this odd behavior.

Problem solved! There was a leftover corrupt “HKCU\software\rising sun solutions, inc.\” entry in my registry that I missed in my prior registry searches. I have no idea how and why it got corrupted, nor do I care. Good thing was that as soon as this entry was deleted, the popup problems originally complained of went away. Thanks for your help.
