I made a story structure that I like to use while outlining a new story in the database program Filemaker and was thinking that it would be nice if I could export it from Filemaker and import it again into Atlantis. Is this what is called xml? I don't know so much about this. But is it possible for example to export storyplot fields from Filemaker into Atlants as for example Chapter headings? My idea is to get after import a ready to write outlined book with all the plotpoints as chapters on their places, with an TOC and title page, ready to start writing the story itself. That would be a nice work flow!

Hi André,
This might not be exactly what you’re after, but it is the best I can suggest at the moment. I am assuming that you want to retrieve the layout from XML files (that is files with the “.xml” extension). Here is how to proceed:
1. Download and install the free version of XMLFox Editor from http://xmlfox.com
2. Download and install the freeware SysExporter from http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/sysexp.html
3. Open your XML file in XMLFox Editor.
4. To the right of the XMLFox window, click to display the Tree view.
5. Launch SysExporter.
6. In the top half of SysExporter, locate and select the entry corresponding to the XMLFox “TreeView”.
7. Right-click in the bottom half of SysExporter, and select “Choose Columns”.
8. In the “Column Settings” dialog, uncheck all values except “String”. OK out of the dialog.
9. Click in the bottom half of SysExporter, then press “Ctrl+A” to select the whole layout.
10. Right-click that selection, and choose “Copy Selected Items (Tab Delimited)” from the pop-up menu.
11. Open Atlantis Word Processor, create a new document (“Ctrl+N”), then press “Ctrl+V” to paste the Windows Clipboard contents.
12. Close both SysExporter and XMLFox.
You should now have the layout of your XML file in Atlantis Word Processor.
HTH.
Cheers,
Robert
