Superscript Display Issue When Copying/Saving To HTML

Post by acant05 »

Please see the files (rtf and the html (zipped)) attached. Superscript size under html equals size of regular text not the proper smaller font size... This happens when copied to clipboard as html or when saved as web page.. :(

It is not a bug in Atlantis. As far as I know, many word processors (including MS Word) save superscripted/subscripted text to HTML as "..." and "..." HTML tags. These tags do not reduce font size. They simply offset the corresponding text up or down.

But it is possible to generate more WYSIWYGy HTMLs with super-/subscripted text. Any next release of Atlantis Word Processor will accompany the / HTML tags with extra tags that reduce the font size correspondingly.

To be more correct, the / HTML tags do reduce the actual font size but not as significantly as the super-/subscript formatting attributes in word processors. Especially this is noticeable when the generated HTML file is viewed in Firefox. Regrettably Firefox and Internet Explorer render the / formatting differently. So it would be impossible to have the same display in both browsers. But as I said above, the next release of Atlantis Word Processor will still generate more "WYSIWYGy" HTMLs, no matter the Web browser.

Thanks for the info. I was using Firefox; tried opening the file in Google Chrome and the result was somewhat better...
