Besides Windows XP, I use Atlantis (latest version) in an old system just for word processing, no Internet, etc. With the latest version I'm getting frequent freezes of the system. To be honest, I'm not sure if these errors are induced by the operating system or if it has some relevance to the new version of Atlantis. I leave here the codes and messages I get:
"Error
Exception:
Access violation at 00401643 in Atlantis.exe"
After closing Atlantis I still get this message:
"Runtime error 0 at 001D 06B4"
I appreciate your help.
Thanks.

Errors in Windows 98 SE
Windows 9x is a very unreliable operating system. But the latest version of Atlantis is supposed to work under Windows 98 correctly. We cannot reproduce any problem under Windows 98.
Which features of Atlantis display these error messages? When do you get them?
What if you launch the following command-line through the "Start | Run..." dialog of Windows:
"C:\Program Files\Atlantis\Atlantis.exe" -dls -dss
It would launch a new instance of Atlantis with the default settings. Does it raise exceptions on your PC?

Thanks for your reply.
I tried the commands you suggested and Atlantis loaded without any errors. I totally agree with you about Windows 98. It's in fact a very, very unreliable system. I'll try to find out what is causing the errors to happen within the OS. Maybe updating the video driver. Meanwhile thanks very much again for your help, always pertinent.

Could you please launch your Atlantis in the standard way (without any command-line switches), then choose the "Tools | Options..." menu command, click the "Save to File..." button to save your Atlantis settings to an INI, and send this INI file to support@AtlantisWordProcessor.com ?
