Windows XP compatible?
Windows XP compatible?
I may become a Windows XP user soon Although XP is not listed, will Atlantis run on XP?

I kind of figure it might, since Atlantis does run on NT.

Are there any features that do not function on XP?

Thanks!

-michael
Re: Windows XP compatible?
The latest version of Atlantis Ocean Mind - 1.0.5.90 - is Windows XP-compatible.
Re: Windows XP compatible?
I will have a new pc in the office within the next few days. Win 2000 - my administrator says she is the only person who can install software to it. I do not believe her. He, he! Will Atlantis work with W2k if I take it from disc?

Re: Windows XP compatible?
If you are not allowed to install new software, you could

a) copy the “c:\Program Files\Atlantis” folder from your old computer to a floppy disk(s) or CD-RW,
b) recreate the “c:\Program Files\Atlantis” folder on your new computer.

You might have to create Desktop and “Start | Programs” shortcuts manually as well as associate Atlantis with the desired file extensions (“Tools | Associate With Document Type...” menu command) and add the desired spellcheckers to the list of installed spellcheckers (“Tools | Options...”, “Spellcheck”, “Spellcheck Systems and Dictionaries...”).
Re: Windows XP compatible?
You could install Atlantis Ocean Mind to a floppy. Then launch it from that floppy on any computer.

First, launch Atlantis, and choose the "Tools | Options..." command. Click the "Save Settings to File..." button, and save your current settings to a floppy as "Atlantis.ini".
Then copy the following files (if any) from the home folder of Atlantis to a floppy: "Atlantis.exe", "Atlantis.ats", "Format Palette.fpl".
Then copy the "Spellcheck" folder from the home folder of Atlantis to a floppy.

Now you could launch "Atlantis.exe" directly from that floppy on nearly any computer. Atlantis would read your settings from the floppy, and save them to a floppy on close too.
Re: Windows XP compatible?
