Landscape printing (RTF)

Post by duanejenna »

I am currently trying to create an RTF document (in landscape) and sending to Atlantis Nova 1.0. The problem that I am having is that if I print the document to a USB printer (Lexmark) - the document prints fine. However, if I send the document to an HP printer - the document does not print in its entirety (chops off the right side of the document). The interesting thing .... is if I open and save the document in Atlantis and then open and print from Word - the entire document prints.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks

Greetings--
When you open the Print dialog (Ctrl+P), you can normally adjust the printer's "properties". Press that "Properties" button. You should be able to check/set the "portrait vs landscape" status of the document. See if the printer's "properties" dialog would not show your document as "portrait". In which case, set it as "landscape".

Hope this helps.

Robert - thanks for the help - checked the page setup- it is coming over as landscape...Any other idea's? Sorry to be a pest to one and all, I have been working on this for a couple of days (long days) and the frustration factor is high.

Thanks,

Hi again!
You are not being a pest at all.
Only printing problems can be tricky to solve.
They depend on the printer's make, model, driver, on the document page settings, etc.
2 suggestions at this stage:

If you need to print that document quickly, please use any word processor or editor present on your system. The easiest and probably fastest would be to open that document in WordPad, and print it from there.

Could you please try to print a few other "landscape" documents from Atlantis Nova? Are they also chopped off on the right?

Landscape Printing (RTF)

Robert,

Thanks again.....

I don't think that it is a printer issue....I don't understand that if I upload the document into Atlantis and print - it doesn't work.

However - if I save the document from Atlantis and then open it with Microsoft word and print - it does work.

Do you think that this could be an RTF issue?

BTW - All landscape reports printing to ANY HP printer do the same thing..drivers are different..problem the same. Works from Canon and Lexmark though....

Once again - thank you for your help!

Hi, again!
When you print and the right part of the text is cut off, is the printed text readable in the “portrait” or “landscape” mode? In other words, are the printed lines (partly) readable as if they got printed as “portrait” or “landscape”? If you try to read the text that does get printed, do you have to hold the paper as “portrait” or as “landscape”?
Cheers
