I have my default page setting as page width, Atlantis has an annoying habit of when starting, for a moment loads first with a quarter page then page width. Any ideas.
Many thanks. I am running windows xp home all updated.

I do not understand what you mean. The "page settings" could not be "page width" because "page width" is a component of "page settings". Page settings include page width, page height, page margins, page orientation, etc.

Atlantis also has the "Page width" zoom.

When you launch Atlantis, it might automatically create a new document. Atlantis creates this new document from your default document template.
Consequently this new document has the same page settings (page width, page height, page margins, page orientation, etc) as your default document template. Also the zoom of your default document template is automatically used in this new document.

may I try and explain better. For new documents I have Atlantis default setting to page width, when I start Atlantis the page first shows on the top left corner a quarter of a blank white page for a few moments and then loads to my default page width (full white page)
Thanks.

Since you do not refer to the feature names or menu commands of Atlantis, it is hard to guess what you mean. Possibly you wanted to say that the zoom of your default document template in Atlantis is "Page width". I also guess that "a quarter of a blank white page" is just a fragment of a newly created document window whose initial state is "not maximized" (or "restored"). You simply notice an intermediate stage of the window maximization. It lasts for a fraction of second, and is hardly noticable on modern PCs. It in no way affects your document contents. It is not a bug.
