tab options

Post by Andremusic »

Hi!
Is there a way to configure the tabs settings so that when I go to tab position, the fonts size and type are changed according to that specific tab position?

When you click any caret position in your document, and start typing text, this new text is formatted with the font face, font size, font color etc of the preceding character (if any) or of the following character. If I understand you correctly, you need to format the characters that precede your tab characters.

What I am looking for is this: I press the tab key, it goes to a position. The moment I start to type then, I would like to have for example centered all CAPITAL letters. Then, again when I press the tab, it should go to another position, for example left and starts immediatly when I start typing with arial 12 italic. I would like to make 5 or 6 different tabstops like this. Is this possible?

Can't you do that by the format palette?

The Tab key inserts a new tab character in Atlantis. It does not reposition the caret. But you can use bookmarks instead. You can format the desired locations in your document in some way, then bookmark each location with the Shift+Alt+B hot key. Navigating among the bookmarked locations can be done through the "Previous Bookmark" command (Ctrl+/ NUMPAD) or "Next Bookmark" (Ctrl+* NUMPAD). You could also choose your own hot keys for these commands through the "Tools | Hot Keys..." dialog.
