Re: Alphabetizing lists
Greetings–
All you have to do is select the target paragraphs and apply either of the two dedicated commands, i.e. “Sort paragraphs in ascending order” or “Sort paragraphs in descending order”.
These commands are available both as toolbar icons (“Edit” category), or as keyboard shortcuts (“Ctrl+Shift+K,A” and “Ctrl+Shift+K,Z” respectively).
I personally find the toolbar icons most practical (I sort lists almost daily). Simply place both or one of these icons on your toolbars.
You can also change the default hot keys to your convenience.
Finally, you can also add these 2 commands to your menus. Here are the steps:
1. Click “Tools | Menus…”
2. Select the “Edit” menu on the left (or any other menu or sub-menu that you would find more appropriate).
3. Pull the list down on the right and select the “Edit” category.
4. Locate “Sort paragraphs in ascending order” in the list of available commands. Tip: click in the list first, then type “s” to get to the commands beginning with “s”.
5. Use drag & drop (or the arrow buttons) to add “Sort paragraphs in ascending order” to the menu or sub-menu displayed on the left.
6. OK out of the dialog.
Cheers
