I set a hot key to insert a footnote and would like to see it actually insert it instead of invoking the window of 'defaults'. Can this be made possible?

The "Insert | Footnote..." dialog does not display the defaults. It displays the footnote/endnote settings of the current document section. When you bring this dialog, and the displayed settings are OK with you, you only need to press Enter to insert a new note. So things are already very simple: first, press your assigned hot key (this would display the "Footnote & Endnote" dialog), then simply press Enter (this would insert a new note).

What I meant to say of course is: the dialog window with the footnote/endnote settings of the current document section, instead of 'defaults'.
Since I would not be changing the settings often, I thought it possible to create a hotkey with the Insert activated. But of course hitting the Enter key is easy, too. Thank you again for this really needeed feature.
