since moving up to 1.5 beta, CPU usage seems to have rocketed. Altlantis is using little memory, but 27 percent CPU on my 2.4GHz machine.
Very strange.
SHould I go back to the non beta?

CPU hogging
I do not know how you monitor the CPU usage. The difference between 1.5.3 and 1.5.4 should be insignificant. Any version of Atlantis can work without a problem even on much slower PCs (500 MHz and lower).
Anyway the CPU usage is a variable value. Every process tries to use as much of the CPU time as it needs. Windows can limit the CPU usage for some processes (programs/applications) when required. When you perform bulky operations in any software (for example, save a document in Atlantis), the CPU usage might reach 100%, and stay at this level for a second or longer. It is a completely normal thing. Why a software should use only 50% of your CPU time (and consequently save a document twice as slow in comparing to the case with 100%-usage) if no other process requires more CPU time?
Obviously if you enable more “background” features in Atlantis (spellcheck as-you-type, AutoCorrect as-you-type, Power Type, sounds, etc) or if your document contains big pictures, Atlantis might require more time from the CPU. But it is completely normal and reasonable.
You can switch to the previous version but it will be replaced with 1.5.4 in the next few days.
