Win produces *.bak-files

When I open a file saved in the Atlantis Nova Formular - say "something.rtf" - and make a change in the file and save it again Win 2000 produces a file "something.bak" without the changes I have made. When I now open the file *.bak and make a change in it this change will be saved. How can I hinder Win 2000 to produce this *.bak-files?

Uncheck the "Tools | Options > Load/Save > Create backup file" box in your Atlantis.
