atlantis freezes computer?

Post by Andre »

I tried a couple of times to install atlantis, and everytime it freezes the pc. I uses XP Home. I did have atlantis for a while, and love the prog. and the pc froozes many times, but Inever realised that this could be the reason. Even after a complete clean install from XP (after reformating the harddisk), it freezes again.
What can the reason be?

What does freeze your PC: the setup of Atlantis, or Atlantis itself?
If the setup does, at which installation stage/step does it freeze?
Did this happen with older versions of Atlantis (or their setup files)?
If you used a different version of Windows, did this happen on this different version of Windows?

Could you please be more specific?

During the setup, the pc already freezes. The moment I click the installicon, it happens already. Sometimes, I can install Atlantis, but then during using it, it freezes. I amafraid to install it now, so I completely removed it.

Could you please tell me all what I asked you about in my previous post above?

Neither Atlantis nor its setup could freeze your PC. You could always press Ctrl+Alt+Del, click "Task Manager", and terminate any unresponding task.

In any case, all this is very strange. Atlantis and its Setup are very different software. It is unprobable that they could share the same problem. Also it is strange that the problem happens randomly. As well as we cannot reproduce anything wrong under Windows XP.

I just tried it again. I downloaded the Atlantis Nova version, clicked on the install file and the computer was frozen at that moment. It is not possible to do ctrl alt del, because everything is stuck. All I see is the blue setup screen. After the reboot, it got even stuck again without doing anything and I needed to reboot again.

Have you installed other software to your new Windows? If so, could you recall which software? Can they be temporarily unloaded?
