Some keystroke features

Post by John Stafford »

Hi: I often forget to type the first letter of a word with a capital when it's required. Could a keystroke combinattion be devised such that with the cursor inside the word, the keystroke would automatically capitalise the word? Similarly, I often hit the caps lock key in error only to discover a whole string of words in caps. Could keystrokes be devised that, if the string were highlighted, the key combination would reduce them to lower case? John

In «Tools | Auto correct options» I have checked «Correct accidental use of cAPS LOCK key». So each time I type «wRONG» it gets «Wrong» and caps lock is turned off - and all I have to type is the next space after «wRONG».

You need to select the target word first.
Then you can apply the "Sentence" pattern to it with a hot key combination.
Atlantis has no default hot key for the "Change Text Case (Sentences)" command. But you can assign one in the "Format" category (Tools | Hot Keys...)

Simply select the target words, then press CTRL+F3. This is the Atlantis default hot key for the "Format | Change Case | Lowercase" command.
Note that the "Invert Capitals" toolbar button has a convenient drop-down list attached (down arrow) with all commands relating to changing case.
Also note that you could enable the "Caps & Num Lock Warning" sound (Tools | Sounds...) Each time you'd start typing with the CAPS lock on, you would get a warning sound from Atlantis.
Cheers
