autosave
I was trying out the email facility. Went as far as ccompleting the form but cancelled before sending. The system froze. I,m a little low on memory!!.
Had a document open which I had not saved as I thought yhe autosave was doing it for me.
How do I access these back-ups?.
What are the file designations. .rtf?
Where are they stored if I did not nominate a folder?

Just found Atlantis a few days ago. Its looking great.

Thanks for any views. Newbie at forums so please bear with me. :)
Re: autosave
Is the e-mail-program properly installed as a default? That is normally the reason for a break-down in this situation.

But Atlantis recovers by autosave the documents if Atlantis is breaking down. If the problem is caused by windows or the mail-program you have perhaps on the harddrive the chk-documents.

Re: autosave
When starting Atlantis after the break-down it is informing you on the number of the recovered documents. If you get this information not, you can only browse for the chk-docs on the harddrive

Re: autosave
About "The system froze". There might be problems with so called MAPI on your computer (for example, your default MAPI mail client might not be configured properly).

About the document safeguarding.
First, you should eneble it through the Load / Save options of the Tools | Options... dialog. There you can specify the time interval for safeguarding.
If Atlantis created a safe copy for the active document in its current state, the special icon is displayed on the Status Bar:

Now you can do the following in order to test the Safeguarding. So choose the Help | About... command of Atlantis. Then press the Ctrl+Alt+Del... and end the Atlantis task to emulate the system or program crash or another problem. Now launch Atlantis again. Atlantis would offer to restore autosaguarded documents from their safe copies.
Re: autosave
Wow-partial success

The autosve bit enabled tested working well.

The email bit is strange. The emails have been sent to myself via the isp and have all arrived but atlantis and outlook get to the completed task screen(email sent) AND THEN IT STOPS RESPONDING. i HAVE BEEN ABLE TO DISCONNECT FROM ISP. ATLANTIS GOES INTO LIMBO/FREEZES WITH ONLY PART OF SCREEN SHOWING. I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO shut down Atlantis and RECOVER THE SYSTEM BY USING CTRL ALT DEL. Any ideas PLEASE
With regard to the mapi config i dont know how to set this up if it is causing the problem.
Thanks to THE PRINCE and others.
