booklet printing error Exception: Division by zero

Post by zippy »

Hi, I tried to print a booklet. I followed the instructions in the Help file. However, no matter what combination of pages I use, when I try to print, I get the error message: Exception: Division by zero. Has anyone had this experience. I followed the help file exactly and set up my printer. Thanks. 8O

Greetings--
If at all possible, could you please send the document you are trying to print as a booklet to comment@rssol.com ?
With a detailed description or screen capture of your print settings
a) in the Atlantis Print dialog,
b) in your printer's dialog.
Also which printer are you using (make, model)?
Does it print to the top or underside of pages (pencilled cross test)?
Cheers

division by zero

 HI, thank you for your response. I figured out what happen. Instead of starting out with regular size paper, I divided the paper in half BEFORE choosing print booklet. Since it had nothing to divide for the printing, I guess it gave that error message. I tried it without trying to do its work for it and it works fine. The printing is very small, but I guess I can change that by choosing a 14 or 16 type face. Not sure, I'll look for more answers on the forum. Thanks again!

I do not understand how you "divided the paper in half" in Atlantis. Could you please explain this with more details? Which options did you select in Atlantis (in the "File | Print" dialog)?

booklet printing divided in half

Post by zippy »

Well, this is what I meant by dividing the paper in half.

BEFORE clicking on the booklet printing button, I created the file with the landscape mode and divided the page into two colums.

So, the printing booklets command had nothing to do, since the document was ALREADY divided into two columns.

When I created the document in the more normal mode of portrait mode and using the whole 8 1/2 x 11 1/2 page, and THEN asked to print it in booklet form, the program worked correctly, except the print was too small.

I hoped this explains it better.

The problem is that Atlantis cannot print landscape documents as booklets. The next build of Atlantis will have a provision for such cases. Thanks for reporting this.
