Hi, John!

You need to modify the "Normal.rtf" template, or any other template if you changed the default template for new documents.
Here is how to proceed:

1) Open the "Normal.rtf" template.
2) Select the zoom factor that you want to become the default zoom factor for all newly-created documents.
3) Save and close this "Normal.rtf" template.

Any newly-created document will then be created with the zoom factor used when last saving the "Normal.rtf" template.

As a rule any default setting of newly-created documents is dependent on the corresponding setting in the default template.
