Is it possible to tab through fields or does this require tables? I'd like to rebuild the various templates using fields to add things like date, person to, person from (as in fax or memo documents), etc... but I want to move between the fields using the tab key as this is very fast. As it is the process of using the existing templates is quite slow and requires manually inserting the cursor at the appropriate places.
I would want to simply tab to a field, fill in the contents and then tab to the next one before completing the rest of the document. Does this make sense? John
Tabbing through fields
I can suggest the following solution:
a) create a document template,
b) associate your "fields" (the desired locations within your template) with bookmarks (in other words, insert bookmarks to these locations - use "Insert | Bookmarks", or press Shift+Alt+B to insert bookmarks),
c) now you can use the "Go to next bookmark" or "Go to previous bookmark" command (the default hot keys: Ctrl+/ (NumPad) and Ctrl+* (NumPad) respectively) to navigate among these bookmarks/locations.
You could press "Ctrl+/ (NumPad)", then type the contents of the first field, then press "Ctrl+/ (NumPad)" again, and type the second field, and so on.
