Hi, John!
What about defining this constantly-used template as the default template for new documents ("File | New | Formats & Templates...")?

Then when you want to create a document with a different template, you can use the "Create From Template..." command from the drop-down list of the "Create a new document" toolbar button.

Sure, of course. I guess I was maybe thinking that it might be possible to have a number of such templates within the easy reach of a specific hot key for each one. Not a big deal for me. Thanks for remindnig me. John

The new Favorites menu also allows you to add frequently used templates to it for quick access. There is a hot key for adding an open document or template to the favorites.
