I just placed a few new fonts in the folder on winnt of the company pc. With Word no problem to use them, but not with Atlantis. What is the reason? How to solve it?

You have not said what is the problem, and what are these fonts.

Well, I do not see them in the list of fonts of Atlantis and cannot use them of course. It's a small number of ttf-fonts, downloaded from acidfonts.com, as Smite, Vigilante Notes, Yakap etc.

Vanishing fonts

Are you sure that the fonts are not available further down the list? They might simply be listed below the list of your favorite fonts which are placed on top of the global list by design.

In this point I am sure. After installing the newest update of Windows 2k and restarting the pc everything was in the right place. But why needed it an update to access them from Atlantis 1.5?

Hmm.... if you copied these new fonts into the c:\windows\fonts directory, they should be available to all programs that use TTFs, and that includes Atlantis.

Are you sure you hadn't somehow put a check in the "use my favorite fonts only" checkbox (Tools > Options >General Tab)? With this checkbox checked, some weird things can happen if you aren't careful... Honestly, though, I can't see how this could have happened, even with this checkbox selected--but it's my only guess. Keep this box clear unless you want to restrict Atlantis to a few oft-used fonts, or even one font if you're like a couple of other writers I know! (Writers are superstitious -- same coffee mug, same dictionary, same brand of computer, same music going, same font.)

Just a thought--do take a look at that box, though.

No, that wasn't the reason. And after updating Windows the problem was solved. Well, I do not know till now what the problem was, but that was the solution. ;)
