Access violation - IBM AS/400

Post by Prince »

I got my AS/400 updated on the pc in the company office. When closing all windows of this program, I get difficulties with Atlantis. It says "Access Violation at address 0040C78C in module "Atlantis.exe". Read of address 00000014." What about this

A new beta of Atlantis should be available soon.
You could check if it still has this problem on your computer.

I will wait for the new version. It is only if I use the "exit all"-function. If I close the windows one after one there is no problem.

I tried it with the 1.5-Beta. Same procedure as with the 1.1 Ocean Mind. "Access violation ..."

Problem can be minimized by saving all documents before closing the IBM-program.

Works even, when saving is done by backup-function. That information might be important when there is a company using Atlantis and that IBM-stuff.

Yesterday when I finished work in the office and closed all windows of i-Enterprise Atlantis produced the complaints again. I checked my backup folders and found the reason. Docs haven't been backuped inspite of this feature being activated.

Hi, Prince!
Do you mean backups made by i-Enterprise or backups made by Atlantis?
If it is backups made by Atlantis, could you please tell us which are your current Atlantis backup settings (automatic, manual, maximum number of backups, etc)?
I personally suspect that the i-Enterprise module might be closing applications forcefully without giving them any chance to save or backup before they are actually completely shutdown.
Maybe you could try backing up manually. There is a handy toolbar button. I personally use it to avoid backup clutter.
Cheers,
Robert

Closing forcefully... I like that expression cos it probably describes what this last reincarnation of AS/400 does. I backuped with Atlantis, automatically, 8 mb max, every 15 minutes. I will now try to backup with the button. Let's see what happens.
