Hi: I get the following error message when I right-click a word that has been marked as misspelled:
Access violation at address 017D7CB4 in module 'ssce5332.dll'. Read of address 0000026D
I sometimes have problems with the spellchecker where simple words are marked as misspelled even though they are clearly spelled correctly. The required spell checkers are all in place, everthing spell checks fine for a while, and then I get this unpredictable behaviour.
Error message
Have you ever added words to your custom spellcheck lexicon "userdicen" (the "Add to dictionary" command of the right-click menu - when you click a misspelt word)? What is its contents? Its default location: "C:\Program Files\Atlantis\Spellcheck\Lex\userdicen.tlx".
Is this error message reproducible?

Speller
Hi: yes, there are a variety of words in userdicen.tlx. Perhaps about 50 words. The error cannot be reproduced at will. It will sometimes happen after I have been working on a document for a while, then suddenly words are underlined as misspelled that are actually correctly spelled, even simple words such 'got' 'have', 'perhaps'....that sort of thing. I can typically continue writing because I simply ignore the underlines. However, if I go for too much longer, and then right click a (alleged) misspelled word (that is in fact correctly spelled), then the access violation will come up. That much is at least reproducible. The problem is that I can't predict when the speller will misbehave.
Hope this helps a bit. John

Error messsage
OK. I've removed the user dictionary. I'll have to work with the program for a bit to see if it makes a difference. A few days should be a reasonable time to try. Will get back to you. John

Error mesages
Hi: the spell checker has been noticeably better behaved since removing the user dictionary. What's the implication here? Can I reload my dictionary list, is it corrupted, or is there a possible issue with the feature itself that's causing some unstable behaviour? Anyway, your suggestion does seem to have isolated the user dictionary as a casuse. John
Could you send your custom dictionary to betatesting@rssol.com ?
Please close Atlantis, then open your custom lexicon (“C:\Program Files\Atlantis\Lex\userdicen.tlx”) with NotePad.
If the first line of your custom lexicon is
#LID 24941 (or something like this)
please remove this line.
Also if the words in your custom lexicon are followed by a tab character + “i" letter, please remove these tab characters and “i" letters from your lexicon.
