Online Install - Display Build No.?

Post by Max_Quordlepleen »

I just ran Online Install, and moved from 1.0.0.32 to 1.0.0.33 I know that many of these minor builds have only cosmetic changes, but some of us just love to have the latest. :D It might be nice if a direct link to the download page were included in the "Atlantis on The Web" section of the Help menu, something like "Run Online Install", so that we can check for an update from inside Atlantis. What do others think?

It was not necessary to restart computer.

By the way, the next minor release of Atlantis will allow to check for new versions directly from the program environment. Atlantis could tell you whether a newer version (in comparing to your current version, of course) is available on the server. Also Atlantis could tell you what's new in the latest release of Atlantis in comparing to your version of Atlantis.
Also Atlantis could perform updating itself.

That sounds good. Now how about if another thing could be implemented: by going in Atlantis to the Help menu and choosing 'Atlantis Forum', IE would open the Forum with myself automatically logged in.
Actually, this is what those cookies that we have to have enabled could and should do, so why not give them something to do? Then I would be logged anytime I came to this forum, no matter from where...I don't see why not, security is not a problem here?

Van

I afraid that this would be impossible. The problem is not in communicating with Forum from Atlantis. The problem is in communicating with Forum from a Web browser. Cookies is the best known standard way for doing this.

By the way, cookies are not so dangerous as you think...

;)
