Is Atlantis format palette feature compatible with Word character styles?

The Format palette is the only way Atlantis can do character level styling, and I just read that Epubs prefer all inline text formatting to be done with styles. Do you know if it uses the same rtf specification as MS Word?

There is only one RTF specification – by Microsoft.

In Atlantis, you can only use paragraph styles. The Format Palette of Atlantis applies direct formatting.

When generating EPUBs, Atlantis converts all font formatting into CSS style formatting. In other words, no inline font formatting in EPUBs created by Atlantis.
