How to find undefined font characters in text

When I moved from the Tahoma font to Google's Noto Sans and from Noto Sans to Noto Serif by changing the Normal paragraph style or a top level paragraph style I ended up with undefined characters in the resulting text, shown by Noto fonts as a vertical empty rectangle. Is there a way to search for these characters?

An example is where I changed a paragraph style from italic to serif and Noto Sans has Prime and Reversed Prime characters where Noto Serif only has Prime characters, no Reversed Prime. I did this editing paragraph styles and never looked at the text afterwards.

Atlantis does not have a tool to report characters formatted with a font that does not have corresponding glyphs. Having such tool would be useful in some cases, I think.

On a related subject ... I recommend the free utility BabelMap to help you see whether certain glyphs are available in a font that you want to use:

Also, I have found that you can usually depend on the free font DejaVu Sans to have special glyphs that are missing in other fonts. Download from here:

Good suggestions. I have DejaVu and have used the male and female symbols as they look like expected; Noto fails on these with tiny versions.
