Text is constantly moving around

Post by Jorma »

Why does the text move back and forth while I'm typing?
For this single reason I'm sticking to Abiword.

In some situations Atlantis adjusts the intercharacter spacing in order to achieve a sharper text display.

I saw this feature on Atlantis. But as I normally type blindly (looking on a point on the wall, hectic, very fast ... :) it does not disturb me. I played around one or two times with Abiword. Fine looking program, indeed, but crashed every time. So I dropped it and voted for Atlantis.

(BTW: when will come the next update - you know how I am longing for headers and footers - and how curious I am for the new splash screen.)

Please, fix this issue aswell :-) Or make it an option.

Otherwise, I really dig Atlantis. Size and all.

I too noticed the strange "jumping around" of the text while you type, and it likewise bothered me. By the way, this does not seem to happen in the "0.7" version, which is still available. Perhaps in a future release the designers could make this "text sharpening" feature optional. Otherwise, great program, very stable as well as visually appealing.
