There is something I don't understand about styles. I usually use a serif letter (Garamond) as my default font, and would like to use this for headings to.
However, the styles heading 1, 2 and 3 all use the "normal" style as their basis. And strangely, although I have set Garamond 12 pt as my default font in the normal template, this normal style keeps defaulting back to Arial 11 pt. No matter where I specify it, even if I do that (as I think) in the normal.rtf that's the default template -- the next time I open it, it's defaulted back to Arial.
How does that work? Isn't that a bit weird? Shouldn't the "normal" in styles be a *relative* font, e.g. dependent on whichever is the default font in the relevant file? Now it looks as though it's hard coded into the programme, instead of into the file.
I'm probably overlooking something, but I can't rightaway think of what.
A question about styles and the "normal" style
