templates & email & bouquets

Stumbled on Atlantis when I wasn't even looking for another word processor, but now I'm hooked - I think. I'm a journalist, and I can see Atlantis making writing a whole lot simpler.

Two problems:
* I can't seem to get templates to stick. When I create and save a *.txt template, it invariably opens in Times Roman font, single spaced, when I saved it with neither of these attributes. How do I change this?

* I can't send emails. It's not Atlantis's fault: I can't use the send to function at all on my computer. Problem is, I don't know why, and the internet hasn't helped me. Any MAPI gurus out there know what I'm missing?

Congratulations on this creation. Why doesn't everyone know about it?

Could it be that the mail-client is not properly installed? Which one do you use?

First, you should not create *.txt templates because they could not contain formatting.

When you create a new document of the desired document format, Atlantis uses formatting of the document template associated with this document format.
For example, when you create a new RTF document, this document looks in the same way as the "Normal.rtf" template.
When you create a new TXT document, or open an existing TXT document, Atlantis formats this plain text document in the same way as the "Plain.rtf" template.

To modify the desired document template, use the "File | Document Templates..." menu command.

The best MAPI client I know is MS Outlook (Express). If you have MS Outlook (Express) on your computer, Atlantis should be able to email documents.

Just bouquets ...

I've switched to MS Outlook Express after years of resistance, and found it surprisingly good. The fact that I've switched shows the power of Atlantis! But as you are a company that specialises in outdoing M$, I think you need to offer an emailing option that non-MAPI programs can use.

Also fixed my template problem, thanks to your advice. All I would hope now is that the Australian dollar rises against the US dollar in the next 20-odd days, so that Atlantis doesn't cost me $50-$60.

There are other MAPI-compatible email clients. For example, Pegasus Mail. But as for me, they are not so simple in use as MS Outlook Express. Also MS Internet Explorer (+MS Outlook Express) is an integral component of Windows 98 (and higher).

Have you ever tested FoxMail? I am very happy with this client.
