Lost file

I have a .docx file that I can find using the Recent Documents feature, but otherwise I can not figure out where it is. I do a slight change and a Save so I know it is fresh. Then if I do a file Open, I get to a file of the same name that has not been saved in months. If I do a Save As, I end up in a generic location with no .docx files listed. So, how do I figure out where the thing is located.

Click “Tools | Options…”
Check “Show Full Paths” in the “General” tab.
OK out of the “Options” dialog.
The “Recent Documents” drop-down will show you the path to your document.
