Well, my XP computer is probably crashing, is still under warranty, only 4 mo. old, and I've done so many Restores I can't keep track any more. Seems to be getting worse, can't even reinstall some of my stuff that was lost in a System Recovery, part of Norton. Or maybe some of the confusion is due ...
