Sumatra

So, for now, the simplest and cleanest solution to my PDF woes is Win10's default "Microsoft print to PDF" which, at the moment, prints all my weirdo fonts perfectly fine.

For viewing/reading, the portable version of SUMATRA is tiny and fast.

May that help anyone else . . .

the best free PDF converter can be downloaded from Free PDF Converter

Well, DOPDF did install a printer. At least.

Unfortunately it also installed 304(!) MB worth of crap (why???) - none of which was an actual reader, so far as I can tell. It in fact attempted to get me to install Adobe Reader ...

Re: PROBLEM SOLVED - CLOSE TICKET

First, the PDF issue. Are you talking about a PDF "reader" that will create a PDF file for you?

I mean this: up until a week or so ago I had PDF-XChange installed as a printer (virtual printer I suppose is the term) so that in Atlantis I could "print" the document by choosing PDFXchange from the ...

“TT1139M_.ttf” as available from Calligraphic 421 Roman has characters that look very much like those of “Calligraph421 BT font”.
Are you sure that your document is using “Calligraph421 BT font”, and not “Calligraphic 421 Roman”?

The pull-down menu clearly shows "Calligraph421 BT" (without the ...

The best thing about standards . . .

The best thing about "standards" is that there are so many of them incompatible with one another!

On my system, installing TT1044M_.ttf (or TT1139M_.ttf - I'm not sure because I installed both at the same time) fixed my problem. Installing Euphemia from another website ( same font name, same True ...

PROBLEM SOLVED - CLOSE TICKET

Installing the very same named font form a different website fixed the Euphemia problem!

Again in real time, good job Atlantis!

Now: does anyone know of a good .PDF reader that will also "print to file" ?

(PDFXchange stamped an overlay on every one of my pages today. First time ever it's done ...

UPDATE Problem half solved

One font, one to go!

Installing in Windows the fonts TT1044M_.ttf and TT1139M_.ttf fixed the Calligraph421 BT problem. In real time, no less!

(It was wild to see Atlantis reformat all text using this particular font on the fly! Go job Atlantis team!)

Still working on the Euphemia problem (which ...

What typeface is reported by the Atlantis toolbars when you click your "Arial" text?

It would be good if your provided more details. A screenshot of the Atlantis window with your document might be helpful.

Atlantis seems to know perfectly well what type to use: when I place the cursor, the ...

Re: Fonts were dropped

First, I assume (and sincerely hope) that you are using styles in your document.

I'm not. I'm afraid I don't even understand the concept of "styles."

As I stated above, this has NEVER HAPPENED before. I'm on my 4th re-install of Atlantis, on two different machines, using different versions of ...

All fonts dropped

So I've been using Atlantis for a while, on Vista x64 then Win7 x64, across multiple machines. Installing the program and ensuring fonts are installed in Windows always resulted in my document showing up exactly as typed across all installs and machines.

Except today : new install on Win10 ...

I do appreciate all the help!

But yes, really, it would be much simpler for me to forward the document to the "proper authorities."

All you folks here have been great!

Re: More on sections

... I honestly think that you are doing something wrong

Oh there is no doubt of that whatsoever. I just cannot see -at all- what it could be that I am doing wrong. I'll try to replicate your steps on my document and see.

NOTE: Whether it makes any difference, I do not know, but I always work ...

Re: Sections and margins

I am offering a comment, though it does not explain why this is happening (I think I know, however, in an intuitive sense).

Would it not just be simpler to set the margins for each section?

This I did. I essentially tried these:

- changing only ONE section between others;
- re-doing EVERY ...

What if you delete all the sections but #15, #16, and #17? Can the behavior be reproduced on that shorter version of your document?

This I haven't tried. I *really* don't want to have and retype everything from blank . . .

Because, as you may suspect, if I "cut" then save, then reopen, then ...

Margins + Sections = problems

So . . .

I have a document in RTF. It is comprised of many chapters. Each chapter is its own section - each created with "Section Break: next page" command. (I verified, just in case I had made a mistake.)

SOME of these sections I wish to have *different margins*

It worked, then it didn't ...
