How do I suppress first page header? Also, how do I get back the earlier header-footer toolbar that addressed this?

Header page numbering and toolbar
I don't want the header to appear on the title page of my mss but rather on the first page of text. How do I do that? Also, the header-footer toolbar shown in the help section is one I'm familiar with, not the abbreviated new one. How do I get the old one back?
