Exception Errors make it impossible to work

Even though I never got any answer about what was causing exception errors in Atlantis when I last posted, I did get beyond it for some time. NOW It spawns exception error and closes the file EVERY TIME I try to paste text in from a different document. Yes, it's reproducible...every time I paste ...

using search file is NOT on my computer!

I'm sorry, but I have used the search and the file is not on my computer. The file name is on the "recent" list for the computer, but clicking on the name says that the file is not longer available. Also, the file name is NOT on the Atlantis recent files list. It is definitely not in the folder ...

Thank you!
If it’s only paragraph formatting, you could use these hot keys:

Copy paragraph format > Shift+Alt+C
Paste paragraph format > Shift+Alt+V

All you have to do is

1. Click in the source paragraph.
2. Press Shift+Alt+C
3. Click in each target paragraph.
4. Press Shift+Alt+V

Styles work in this way. Why not use styles?

Here's the function: Yes, you can take the time to develop and apply a style for every single individual format you need (I do professional academic stuff where the authors want specific formatting that you may only use for one essay and never again ...

Thank you for the advice about the format painter. This is good information to know, but the format painter I'm accustomed to will paint paragraph formatting (indentation, hanging indents, etc.) with a click anywhere in the paragraph. So I'll re-state my wish for the format painter to get more ...

Solution/Work-around for exception errors

Here is how I recovered the ability to work with a ,doc file that had become corrupt (kept giving "exception errors and wouldn't open in Atlantis, but would still open in MS Word):

1. Open in MS Word
2. Save as .rtf
3. Close the file
4. Open the .rtf in Atlantis
5. Save as .docx (I haven't tried ...

Format painter

The current format painter only duplicates other easy-to-apply formatting. I'd very much like to see a format painter as is in MS Word, where you can click on a format in the document and then apply that whereever you need it. Thanks!

Exception error/can't open file

I was working on a file (.doc) that opened just fine one minute and the next time I went to open the file, it spawned "exception" errors (each time a different number "location." I can still open same file fine in MS Word. I saved it as a copy and deleted the last chapter I'd added, back to a form ...
