Yes, that's the only solution I found and then, using Sigil, I merge the "Notes" heading paragraph at the end of the document together with the notes themselves and, this way, both are in the same file and linked in the T.O.C.

I am trying to include a link to endnotes on the T.O.C. but I can't find the way.
I have tried it by writing "Notes" above the first endnote and
formatting it as "heading 2" but when compiling the T.O.C. that header is not
recognized. Any suggestion? Thanks in advance!

This e-reader seems to have problems to read footnotes/endnotes in epubs
